FIRM INFORMATION

Jake Lager has been practicing law since 1998. He first started representing businesses and high net worth individuals before the IRS and other governmental taxing authorities as part of the Los Angeles office of Jones Day Reavis & Pogue. He then moved to the tax department of Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, where his practice focused on structuring tax-free mergers and acquisitions as well as providing compliance guidance for REITs and non-profit entities. He is now bringing his legal training and experience to individual taxpayers and businesses who require first-rate tax planning, guidance and representation at a reasonable expense.

Mr. Lager has effectively assisted a variety of clients in disputing federal and state tax liabilities; oftentimes reducing a disputed liability or procuring a taxpayer's refund. He also represents taxpayers in criminal tax investigations and in defense of criminal tax complaints.

Mr. Lager represents clients with tax audits, appeals, and collection matters with the Internal Revenue Service, California State Board of Equalization, California Franchise Tax Board, California Employment Development Department, and other tax authorities throughout the United States.
